A NIGHT AT THE MUSICALS

CTC is presenting a concert ‘A NIGHT AT THE MUSICALS’ devised by Louis Ling, Jennifer Edmonds and Amelia Lee on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December at our home venue, Great Hall at the Leys.
This is in replacement of our annual Christmas production for this year.

We will be looking adults (aged 19 upwards) to form the company alongside (the children and teen company – please visit cambridgeyouththeatre.org.uk)

AUDITION – Sunday 4 September
Venue: Trumpington Meadows Primary School, Cambridge, CB2 9AY

Workshop 1
10:00am – Dance Workshop
11:00am– 13:00pm – Individual Singing Audition

Workshop 2
2pm – Dance Workshop
3pm-5pm – Individual Singing Audition

You only need to attend one of the workshops.

FORMAT OF THE AUDITION DAY

DANCE WORKSHOP
The dance workshop will be led by Amelia Bass, Choreographer which will last no more than 45 minutes. Please wear comfortable clothing for the session. If you have any questions before the audition regarding the level of movement required, please contact us at [email protected]

After that, in timed individual singing slots, there will be individual singing auditions for all. Please wear comfortable clothing for the audition.

YOUR SINGING AUDITION

Please prepare a musical theatre song that demonstrates range and storytelling and matches your casting profile (age/ethnicity/personality etc). Your song should ideally be cut to
around 2-2.5 minutes.

We welcome all eras of musical theatre to be presented, please consider what style best showcases your vocal casting, e.g. legit, contemporary.

Please bring your own sheet music with any cuts clearly marked. If you have any concerns regarding songs or cutting the music, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us for assistance. Backing
tracks are not permitted.

You will need to complete an audition form on the day.

You must be available to attend all rehearsals. If you are not required, then we will inform you in advance as soon as possible when planning the schedule.

If you are new to us then you can also sign-up to join and become a member there.

We will be launching a new Youth Theatre membership scheme. This is your chance to become a youth member of the company. 

CTC is offering a fantastic opportunity for young performers aged 9-21 years to develop their performing skills and gain new ones, whilst working with experienced professionals as part of our new Cambridge Youth Theatre by CTC strand, with performance opportunities across the year.

Joining Cambridge Youth Theatre by CTC provides the following annual youth membership benefits: 

  • Advance notification of upcoming productions that you can audition for

  • Reduced fees on holiday projects

  • Exclusive access to industry workshops and courses

  • Invitations to CTC social and fundraising events

  • A free CTC t-shirt for your first Cambridge Youth Theatre Experience

Going forward, any young person under the age of 21 who would like to audition to take part in CTC’s theatre productions will need to join the CTC membership scheme and become a member of Cambridge Youth Theatre.

Overview of CTC’s 2022 Fees: 

– Single Membership is £25 for 2022

– Family Membership is £45 for 2022
For more than one sibling from the same household.

* Memberships run from January-December each year

To become a youth member, please register on the online form. Once you have completed your registration, you will be able to sign up for upcoming auditions and take advantage of the member benefits.
